Enrico Belli 13 May 2009 Wednesday 20:00 MKM - Enrico Belli, after completing his initial education at Giacomo Rossini Conservatory under the direction of Franco Scala completed his Master’s degree at Imola Academy, studying under great masters such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Lazar Berman, Maurizio Pollini. Following his initial studies focusing on Beethoven, Schubert and Brahms he won the Franz Schubert Competition in Dortmund. Currently he continues to give recitals in London, Madrid, Milano, Munich, Paris and Vienna.
In the recent years Enrico Belli reserved his musical studies on researching the works of contemporary composers and works that blend current music with traditional repertoire. His inquisitive performances ranging from concerts where he played the works of Giacinto Scelsi and Girolamo Frescobaldi together, tours where he performed all solo works of Janacek and to Gilberto Capelli's Frammetto Blu premier resulted in him gaining a very distinguished and special place in the musical circles.
In his last album, Enrico Belli performed a version of Igor Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring’s which was adapted for four hands by the composer himself, and Georg Crumb's Macrocosmos IV - Celestial Mechanics, with his wife Olivia Belli under the name of Belli Piano Duo.
